Arsenal reveal new away kit

Arsenal unveiled their new away strip for the 2013/14 campaign at a launch event outside the Emirates Stadium this afternoon. A giant banner was unveiled revealing the new kit, with the club’s ‘British Core’ of Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Theo Walcott all wearing the new kit in the banner as well as in person too.

The banner will stay on display until early August when the new kit goes out on sale and goes back to the tradition of Arsenal playing in yellow and blue away from home.

This could very well be Nike’s last Arsenal shirt, with Puma reportedly having signed a deal to produce Arsenal’s shirts from next summer onwards. They are signing out in style as this is EXACTLY the kit Arsenal fans wanted as an away shirt. None of the white, purple and whatever else we’ve been handed over the past few years, THIS is an Arsenal away shirt. A proper Arsenal away shirt.

I hope next year, Puma will continue the tradition of a yellow and blue away kit. By the way, I totally love the socks that go with this kit too.

The kit itself looks much like the Invincibles away shirt. Perhaps that was the intention, with it being the 10 year anniversary of that season this year. The club haven’t stated that at all though, so maybe it is just a coincidence. Either way, it’s an extremely nice kit all round and I’m very happy with it.
