Arsenal Transfer Update

With the distraction that is the World Cup still swirling around in South Africa, I thought it would be a good time to look at the transfer updates for people coming in to the Emirates.

Serge Aurier

Everyone is talking about this move and having seen him perform for Ivory Coast in the World Cup I would be very surprised if Wenger didn’t take the right back to Arsenal. Every fan I have seen wants the move to go ahead and some even think that it may even be an improvement on Bacary Sagna, and as Aurer is only 21 there is a lot more to come in the defenders development. Will Wenger be the man to guide this development? I hope so.

This has actually had some concrete reports, with many places reporting Arsenal have tabled a £8m bid after agreeing personal terms with the players. I’m hopeful of these reports because they seem to be coming from proper football sources, rather than tabloid journalism.

More from Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Kingsley Coman

This is the first time I’ve heard this name in connection with Arsenal, but it again seems credible. The PSG youngster has reportedly refused a new contract at the club and is available for free, with Bayern Munich and Arsenal the biggest names in the running. The youngster is an attacking midfielder, so you may question why he would move to the Emirates when Fabregas was told he wasn’t needed, and I’m pretty sure this guy isn’t as good as Fabregas. Nice idea, but an impractical transfer for me.

Joel Campbell

I know he’s not a new player, but he looks it. A season at Olympiacos has done wonders for the young striker and he could well play a part at the Emirates next year. The frontman scored for Costa Rica in their shock win over Uruguay and should have had a penalty given in the Italy game, so I really think he is an exciting player to have coming back to the Emirates.
