Arsenal Transfer Policy Under Fire By Emmanuel Frimpong

Many people have criticized Arsene Wenger’s transfer policy during the summer transfer window. The self-proclaimed need to find a defensive midfielder and quality center backs for Arsenal went unanswered and instead, Danny Welbeck was the sole arrival.

While critics and fans have been quick to criticize, the latest source to sound off is former Arsenal man Emmanuel Frimpong, who now plays in Russia for FC UFA.

The onslaught came when Arsenal fell behind 1-0 to Anderlecht. His first tweet read: “Said it and will say it again we need a F****** centre back with Laurent a bloody DMF and a bloody striker.”

He followed that up one minute later with “And before u start going down on me it’s bloody true all our players are soo similar jack Ramsey arteta Chambo Sanchez Ozil all too similar.”

Then he closed with “FFS Sanchez has had a good season but no disrespect would have been better using that to buy a centre back and a DMF bloody sick of it man.”

My first inclination is to tell Frimpong to shut up. Sanchez has been one of the few guys keeping Arsenal afloat. But he does have a point, as horribly as he made that point.

Everyone knows that Arsenal need more defense. Literally, everyone. Frimpong is no longer an Arsenal man and as such, his opinion really isn’t needed, althought thanks to that pesky “freedom of speech” concept, he’s more than welcome to voice his complaints about a club he could never make it at.

Thinking that all of Arsenal’s players are the same though? That’s a bit ill-founded. Ramsey and Sanchez have very few similarities. Perhaps this lack of recognition is what forced Frimpong to suit up in Russia instead of for a dominant, top tier club.
