Arsenal Injury News: Gibbs, Walcott, Wilshere and Who’s Fit to Face Burnley

Arsenal injury news is about as pesky as transfer rumors. Only injury news is a bit more tangible, in a bad way. With Burnley on the cards for tomorrow, Arsenal’s injury list is extensive. Here’s all the latest:

Jack Wilshere: Jack Wilshere is joining the Arsenal injury list with a knee problem that will keep him out against Burnley and possibly against Anderlecht as well. Any injury to Wilshere should make Gunner nation hold their collective breaths, but at leas this isn’t his troublesome ankle.

Missing Jack in the lineup won’t be detrimental to Arsenal though. Aaron Ramsey is healthy and statistics show that he is a much better player with his English counterpart off the pitch (which is a concern for another day). Hopefully Ramsey can find that illusive form that blessed him with a historic 2013/14

More from Arsenal News

Kieran Gibbs: Gibbs has been on and off the Arsenal injury report for his entire career, and this season is not setting itself up as an exception. While the report was that he’d be fit to play, Gibbs is now preparing for a last minute test on his hip to see if he’s fit.

Honestly though, I’d rather see Arsene Wenger err on the side of caution. It’s only Burnley, and while nothing is a walk in the park for Arsenal, a back line of Bellerin, Chambers, Mertesacker and Monreal should be able to take care of business. The keyword their is ‘should.’

Theo Walcott: Oh Theo… his return is almost as highly anticipated as the second coming of the messiah, but we’ll probably have to wait yet another week to see him suit up for the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has said that he’s still not full-match ready, which means he could plausibly come on late into the game, if Arsenal need that burst of speed.

I wouldn’t count on it though. Unless Arsenal are struggling against Burnley (a terrible thought to mull over), I don’t see Walcott digging his studs into the pitch.
