Moussa Dembele is being linked with a move to Arsenal. As an electric, sharp striker, he would bring an attacking revolution to the North London side.

As the season comes into its closing stages, the focus of the footballing world slowly shifts towards the transfer window and how clubs may behave this summer. For Arsenal, there are many questions that must be answered before speculation can become a reality.

The most influential of these questions regards the future of the manager. Arsene Wenger’s current deal expires at the end of the year and there have been major doubts over whether he will sign an extension.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

As such, whether Wenger stays and changes his approach, or leaves and another comes into the club with his own ideals and beliefs, a new start is coming for the Gunners. Consequently, the players who are acquired in the summer will go a long way to determining the makeup of the club’s future. Former midfielder Ray Parlour has a rather intriguing name who can spearhead this new start.

Speaking with the Daily Record, Parlour touted the name of Moussa Dembele, stating:

"“Dembele’s been a terrific signing for Celtic. To get him for next to nothing was a wonderful bit of business. But you have to be realistic, it will be extremely difficult if a huge bid comes in this summer. When you’re looking at figures of £35million up, then it’s serious money. Arsenal have a great track record with young French strikers and French players in general. Dembele’s got a long way to go in that respect but there will be a lot of big clubs in the market for him in the summer – and I’m not surprised Arsenal are one of them.”"

Dembele, having been signed by Celtic from Fulham last summer, has been in sensational form this season. In 15 Scottish Premier League starts, he has scored 13 goals and has backed that up with three goals in six Champions League group stage games, including two against Manchester City.

At only 20 years of age, as Parlour rightly states, he is an exciting prospect that could spearhead an attack for the next decade. Blessed with searing pace and a willingness to run the channels, Dembele is a nightmare to defend against. He is a ruthless finisher with a deft first touch and intelligent and aware movement off the ball.
