Gonzalo Higuain and 5 Players Arsenal Shouldn’t Sign
Morgan Schneiderlin
This is probably the most controversial one in this article, as Arsenal fans seem to go crazy over Schneiderlin. For argument’s sake, forget the Frenchman’s link to Manchester United.
I do not believe that Arsenal should be spending big on an expensive defensive midfielder. Unlike Carvalho, Schneiderlin is experienced, and yes, he has proved that he can perform well in the Premier League.
However, the price tag of £27 million, even for someone of Schneiderlin’s quality, seems excessive given that we already have a great option for holding midfield in Coquelin.
As I argued in the aforementioned Coquelin article, he has earned his spot in our midfield, and spending so much money on a player to kick him out of the starting lineup would not only be somewhat unfair, but also wasteful.
I think that rather than Schneiderlin or Carvalho, we should be seeking a cheaper option to back Coquelin up in case he gets injured.
