Predicting Arsenal’s Starting XI For FA Community Shield Against Chelsea
By Josh Sippie
Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud
Mesut Ozil is a sure-fire start every time Arsenal takes to the pitch. He also wants to put up a good showing against Cesc Fabregas, who he was tasked with replacing. It is hard to forget the awful game our German had in Arsenal’s first match up against Chelsea last season. This can be his opportunity for a fresh start against the Blues.

Up front, Arsene Wenger has two options, and they are two distinctly different options. Theo Walcott finished with a flourish last season and this preseason has been a continuation of that. However, he still figures to be an emergency substitution just in case Olivier Giroud does not click.
Giroud has often been criticized for not being able to handle the big teams. Chelsea is a big team. The biggest, in fact. So for Olivier Giroud to put up a statement match against Chelsea would be something to write home about.
Giroud needs a good start to the season. He had a fantastic string where he netted a higher goal clip than anyone else in the world other than Lionel Messi. However, the hulking Frenchman finished ice cold. His preseason has been hit and miss as well, so it is imperative that he finds the net as soon as possible.
