7. Giroud topples Thierry… Verbally
It is a regular daily occurrence that an Arsenal player gets spat on by the media. Nobody seems to be good enough, especially Olivier Giroud. Thierry Henry is one such ‘pundit’ that tends to think that Olivier Giroud isn’t good enough. After Henry stated his case, Giroud came back and said: “I heard he was saying too many dull things. That was a bomb and it had its desired effect,” (via the Mirror).

Perhaps the two are completely unrelated, but what made the episode even better is that Thierry Henry came back and essentially retracted what he said. He called it “clarifying,” I call it “remaining popular with the supporters who once loved you.”
To add insult to injury, Arsene Wenger lashed out at his prodigal son as well, “We know all the system now of the modern media, especially on TV. I know how it works. They push you to be controversial because they give you a lot of money.”
It will never silence the media, but at least it seemed to have some effect, and that is a victory for us all.
