Arsenal’s Ideal Starting XI To Face Bayern Munich
By Josh Sippie
Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud
Olivier Giroud has to start. He has the ability to occupy the Bayern Munich’s centarbacks and that is huge. In the grand scheme, all Giroud would have to do is occupy their attention and let his team mates find what space they can. If they let Giroud saunter off on his own then he has to be ready and raring to gun the ball into the net via head or foot.

Olivier Giroud is building on perhaps the best 30 minutes of his season against Watford. Bayern Munich is not going to do him any favors. But as we saw in the second leg against Monaco last year, when he wants to make a statement, he makes a statement.
Mesut Ozil, meanwhile, was taken off rather early but will be expected to put in another big shift against the Germans. It is hard to say what to expect from Ozil. On one hand, you would like to believe he can impact any game no matter the opponent. And he has shown that that may be reality. But on the other hand, we have yet to see his recent form matched up against the Barcelona’s or Bayern Munich’s of the world.
Mesut Ozil has a big test on his hands.
