Arsenal’s Predicted Starters Against Swansea City
By Josh Sippie
Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel Paulista
Per Mertesacker has been incredibly resurgent this year, particularly in the past few weeks. And Calum Chambers figures to be a starting center back in a few years time. But combined, the pace between the two is equal to that of a Galapagos tortoise in sneakers.
Arsenal need to infuse their defense with that athleticism that has made them so special this year. Reuniting Gabriel Paulista and Laurent Koscielny will be a breath of fresh air when sandwiched between Bellerin and Monreal. To see that back four pieced back together in front of Petr Cech will feel like a nice, deep cleansing. And Petr Cech will be even more thrilled.
Gabriel Paulista has been incognito since the virus hit him but he was in a massive momentum wave too. His timing in slide tackles is absolutely spot on and he has become a must-start. Which makes it difficult when three center backs are all must-starts.
Laurent Koscielny is the most must-start of them all. Speaking of people that were missed against Sheffield, an Arsenal team without the Boss is always a bit nerve-wracking.
With the defense back in ship-shape. Let’s move to one of the biggest questions in the current side. The defensive midfield pair.
