2. Thierry Henry Vs. Manchester United October 1, 2000

Skill: 5– I am so tempted to give this a 6 out of 5, but I have already broken my own rules enough at this point. This strike is absurd. Henry’s balance and exquisite scoring instincts are on full display here. Perfection.

Opponent: 5– Manchester United went on to win the title over Arsenal, finishing ten points better than the Gunners. During this era of the Premier League, these were really the only two teams, plus Liverpool, worth talking about.

Significance: 3– Arsenal may have not won any trophies during this season, but this goal was a clear statement of intent. In the following season, the Gunners came back with verve to win the double.
