Just when you thought we were doing well and there was fight there to steal something from White Hart Lane, Arsenal had a complete breakdown, surrendering two goals in about a minute.
There is rarely ever an excuse for that, but if there is some sort of consolation, it’s that the first goal was a lucky rebound.
And that is the end of my excuses.
The Gunners simply had no blueprint for how to get back into the game. They had no tactics to facilitate what actually looked like a decent amount of fight. The attack was too slow, the defense too scattered and if it weren’t for Petr Cech, this would have gotten even more out of hand incredibly quickly.
There aren’t a whole lot of accolades to go around today, so don’t head into these player ratings with optimism. Let the ranting begin.
