11. Jack Wilshere

If we were to make these rankings in January, Jack Wilshere would place near the top. After rehabbing from a broken leg that he suffered during the closing stages of the previous season at Bournemouth, Wilshere first worked his way into the Europa League XI before replacing Aaron Ramsey in the Premier League.

At this point, Wilshere was flying high. His performance against Bournemouth in January is one of the best individual performances by any Arsenal player all season, even though the game ended in a 2-1 defeat. But, unfortunately for Wilshere, the season does not end in January, and his impact significantly tailed off between then and May.

Perhaps fatigue played a part. He has not completed a full season since his breakthrough in 2010/11. But it cannot be denied that Wilshere did not press on when he really had the chance to . That is disappointing.
