14. Sead Kolasinac

An interesting first season in English football for Sead Kolasinac. He started strong, fielded at left wing-back, exploiting his offensive power and pace as he bombed his way up and down the flank. But as the season progressed and Arsene Wenger shifted to a back-four with more regularity, Kolasinac’s defensive vulnerabilities were laid bare.

His agility is poor, his lack of balance often mean that opposing wingers can turn him easily in short spaces, and his positioning is very poor, like many Arsenal defenders, unable to sense danger before its too late.

He does bring a physicality that is nice for a squad renowned for its soft underbelly. But he also needs to work on his defending. If he can improve in that facet, Nacho Monreal may not be sitting all that comfortably in the starting role next season.
