4. Granit Xhaka needs to be dropped

As many of you know, I love Granit Xhaka. I love what he brings to the club and believe that there is a bright future ahead of him, both in the near and distant future. But for the time being, he is not gelling with whatever the hell Unai Emery is trying to do with this club.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

I say that because I’m still not sure what Emery is trying to do, but I believe it has something to do with transitioning parts of what Wenger did into the new brand that he is bringing.

Anyway, whatever he is trying to do, Xhaka isn’t working just yet. His lack of athleticism is a problem all over again, despite him finding ways around it last year, and until he is able to put that behind him, we seriously need to stick Lucas Torreira out there and let his pure energy drive the club, rather than fiddling around with what Xhaka may or may not be able to do.

His minutes are dwindling already. It’s clear what Emery wants to do, so just do it. Let Xhaka pick himself up while someone else takes the reigns.
