4. Lacazette, Player of the Season

In a key game, Alexandre Lacazette was again the best player on the pitch. He scored the first two goals, instigating the opener’s move with a tremendous turned and weighted through-pass, before following the ball and welcoming a gaping net, could and perhaps should have scored three or four, and played a key role in recollecting two loose balls in the build-up to the third goal.

More than just the moments, however, his overall link-up play was again excellent. His combination of touch, low centre of gravity and deceptive strength make him a superb back-to-the-goal centre-forward. And he pressed superbly alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, even charging down the goalkeeper late on in the second half.

Lacazette has been Arsenal’s best player all season long. And he again proved why he should be named Player of the Season in the coming week here. He was once more phenomenal.
