Arsenal Vs Aston Villa: 5 key players to watch – The relentless Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
What more can be said of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang? I thought his performance against Eintracht Frankfurt was magnificent. Not because his impact on the pitch was at an elite level. It wasn’t. But the humility and leadership he showed to spearhead an extremely youthful attack were superb. He did not grow disheartened when mistakes were made, he played with an awareness of his role, and in the end, he got his much-deserved goal.
That goal now means that he has scored in every match that he has played in this season, bar one, the trip to Anfield. He has scored 15 goals in his last 15 Arsenal games, including six this season already. That is a truly astounding rate.
He should continue this excellent form on Sunday. Aubameyang has been excellent at the Emirates during his time in north London and will should be supplied plenty with Arsenal likely to dominate possession.
If the Gunners are to have success this season, it will be because of Aubameyang and his prolific goalscoring. He really is one of the very best in the business and Arsenal are extremely lucky to have him.
