Arsenal vs Standard Liege: Predicted XI in Europa League week 2
By Josh Sippie
Fullbacks
There was a brief injury concern surrounding Kieran Tierney and questions were asked if he would be ready for the Standard Liege match, but all signs look good as of writing, so I’m sure I’m not alone in getting excited to see him out there again. he was a veritable menace against Forest, owning his side of the pitch, and I can’t wait to see him take over first XI duties. Even being a Sead Kolasinac man myself.

Tierney is just half the excitement, though. Opposite, it can only be Hector Bellerin… I hope. He made a brief appearance against Forest, notched an assist, and was put on the backburner to heal some more, but with over a week between now and his last appearance, it’s time to see him back out there.
Especially with Calum Chambers nursing a nick and Ainsley Maitland-Niles… well, more on that later.
This is a dynamic fullback corps that can run the show. They did it against Forest to such a degree that I could see it carrying on right up into the Premier League, when Emery finally sees fit to approve of their fitness levels and get them into the first XI. Until then, this will be the stage where we can enjoy the show.
On to the midfield next.
