Arsenal: 5 reasons Marcel Sabitzer should be top priority
By Josh Sippie
1. Aaron Ramsey who?
Losing Aaron Ramsey was a big deal, even though there are still some haters out there who would beg to differ. Ramsey’s ability to do a little of everything, as well as his return on goal product, was not properly replaced.
With Sabitzer, it is conceivable that we would be upgrading on Ramsey because Sabitzer does not have a spotty injury record and he has a consistent goal record. He went from eight goals and five assists to eight goals and four assists to three goals five assists (his one abbreviated campaign), then sputtered a bit with four goals and three assists before rebounding completely this year where he already has eight goals and five assists to go with his four goals and two assists in the Champions League.
This guy creates and finishes goals like no midfielder we’ve had since… well, since Aaron Ramsey.
We don’t have that threat right now. Ceballos was supposed to be it, but injuries and fluctuating form have made things a bit unstable. Sabitzer is as stable as they come in the goal department. He would up our production from the midfield exponentially because we currently have next to nothing coming out of that department.
Pay the price. Sabitzer is the guy.
