The Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacement might end up being Arsenal’s greatest need this summer. Should the Gabonese striker move on, the Gunners will desperately need to find a goalscoring wide attacker to replace him. Diogo Jota might be one of the best targets for the club to chase that they could feasibly attract.

This season, Jota has played 1773 minutes in the Premier League. He has six goals and one assist. He has played 329 minutes in the Europa League and remarkably has another six goals to his name. Last season, Jota scored nine goals with five assists 2,369 Premier League minutes. He also scored three and added five assists in 389 Europa League minutes.

He is only 23 years of age and will not turn 24 until midway through next season, offering longevity and sell-on potential, and he is a much more natural winger in comparison to Aubameyang, with electric pace, exhilarating dribbling skills, and a natural positional sense that prefers to drift wide and receive the ball in deeper positions.

If Arsenal were to dip their toe into the Premier League market, they could do a whole lot worse than making splurge on Wolves’ Jota.
