2. Same midfield likely to start

Arteta changed things around in midfield for the test against Milan and he could opt to play the same trio for the next outing.

Ethan Nwaneri impressed with a brilliant performance in which he caused plenty of problems for the opponents with his quick feet and tricky skills. He started in place of captain Martin Odegaard and may do so again, hinting at a potential positional rivalry heading into the new season.

With Declan Rice being a shoo-in to continue as the left-sided number eight, new signing Christian Norgaard is likely to continue at the base of the midfield. He started against Milan and looked good in the half he played before being replaced by fellow newcomer Martin Zubimendi. Despite the Spaniard's positive debut, Norgaard was part of media duty ahead of tomorrow's game so he is likely to start.
