Midfielders

Martin Zubimendi (DM) - 6/10 – Zubimendi knitted the play together and enabled Arsenal to build up a healthy possession stat in the first half, a state of play which seemed to suck the life out of the Turf Moor faithful. There was nothing spectacular here but the occasion only demanded a “Steady Eddie” effort and he duly delivered.
Declan Rice (CM) - 9/10 – Outstanding. From minute one to 90, Rice was utterly magnificent and he stole the show in midfield. There were several good, traditional aspects to his performance (e.g. the many interceptions, tackles and sense of anticipation), but he also shone via driving runs, a fine corner-kick delivery and great movement to head Arsenal two in front.
He continues to make that price tag look like a bargain.
Eberechi Eze (CM) - 6/10 – Much tidier from Eze today, even if he was still somewhat quiet. He made the right runs all game, drew fouls from the frustrated Burnley ranks and kept the ball ticking over in the midfield. Like with Zubimendi, it was all good and steady without ever being spectacular but it was just what the Gunners needed.
