Afobe set for Millwall loan move

Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe is set to join Championship club Millwall on loan this week after the two clubs agreed a deal. Afobe joined Bolton on a season-long loan deal in August 2012, but despite featuring regularly for them, his loan was cut short at the end of January.

Freelance journalist and editor of Millwall website News at Den Alex Aldridge tweeted the following earlier:

"“Heard earlier in the week that Millwall + three other Championship clubs are in for Afobe but *seems* as if Jackett will get him this time.”"

He then followed this up later with:

"“Afobe deal agreed between Millwall and Arsenal. Youth loan. Paperwork can’t be signed until Friday. Straight into squad vs. Blackpool.”"

So it appears as though Afobe is off to Millwall then. I think in honesty the Championship will be his level. I can’t see him making it at Arsenal in the future unfortunately. I hope for any youngster to do well at the club, but I would be surprised if Afobe ever makes it at the club. Good luck to him at Millwall assuming it goes through as suggested.

Benik Afobe appears to be set for a loan move to Millwall.
