Final Score: Arsenal 1 ( Alexis 45′) – Beskitas 0

I’m gonna be totally honest. Arsenal have not had a good season so far. The Crystal Palace game should not have been so difficult. The first leg against Beskitas left us all doubting on the Gunners’ ability and the comeback against Everton was bitter-sweet. Coming into this game,  the team was forced to play without their two main offensive forces in Ramsey and Giroud. But they won the game and got into the next phase.

And FINALLY, CAN I GET A HALLELUJAH, ALEXIS SCORED!!!!

Sorry. Alexis finally proved to everybody why he was Arsenal’s biggest transfer this summer.  He had an incredible game and even though it was wasn’t more than one goal, the team showed constant pressure and kept creating chances.

The first half really wasn’t what I expected. I was hoping to see a team with some kind of emotion trying for the win but they seemed a bit asleep to me. The game was pretty much Arsenal’s during the second half until  Debuchy was given a red card because of a controversial challenge.

The score doesn’t reflect how one-sided the game really was at times. Alexis had multiple chances, even one that just passed through his toe which would’ve been a goal for sure. Chamberlain was destroying the right side all day and Wilshere was all over the field. Ozil, as always, was the creator, distributing passes. He even provided the key “pre-assist” in the Alexis goal. We can definitely see things getting better for Arsenal in both the English League and the Champions League.
