Chelsea vs Arsenal: Revenge or Disappointment Again?

facebooktwitterreddit

Chelsea vs Arsenal is a game that brings memories of joy and hate. It feels like it is more than just Chelsea vs Arsenal, but also Jose Mourinho vs Arsene Wenger, and just to make this rivalry even better it is Cese Fabregas vs the club that made him.

In a game with so many angles and so much at stake it is hopefully going to become the greatest game of the season so far. Having seen some of the interviews and comments made by Arsenal players and staff members, it seems like the most important story line is the score line last time these two teams played. A 6-0 win for Chelsea is only one of many high profile games Arsenal failed miserably in last year, and although I would love to say Arsenal has a great chance at revenge, I just can’t do that.

Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Arsenal

1) Arsenal’s Defense Against the Counter

This is not a knock against the way this Arsenal defense is built, but not only is it relatively slow but it also commits way too many fouls. A slow defense is something Chelsea’s amazing counter-attacking game thrives against. Diego Costa has held up the front line of this year’s Chelsea attack wonderfully and don’t think for one second he is going to slow down this weekend. Chelsea has too much fire power and even more speed when matched up against the Arsenal defense. The only way Arsenal wins is if it out scores Chelsea, which I doubt will happen.

Cesc Fabregas is wanted back at Arsenal by the fans.

2) Can’t You Feel It?

There is no other way to put it into words! Don’t you just get that feeling that Cese Fabregas is going to come back to haunt and destroy Arsenal. We loved him and many of us still have great respect for him, but he now plays for Mourinho and that means for one day we must all shower him in boos.

3) Parking the Bus

The one thing Arsenal hasn’t been able to do consistently is go behind defenses. Arsenal was able to go behind the Galatasaray defense like it was child’s play a few days ago, but that would be much harder to do against one of the most declined defenses in England.

Chelsea will play like they always do, they will throw a ton of people behind the ball and in front of their goal. They will frustrate opponent’s strikers and disrupt the flow of the Arsenal midfield. The only way Arsenal wins or even draws is if they played a perfect game, filled with through balls and perfect passing! Odds are against us here but we can always dream for an amazing game!
