No Excuses for Arsenal: Wenger Your Move

facebooktwitterreddit

After hearing about more injury woes, it seems as if Arsenal will continue struggling. It may seem logical to blame “nature” or a “curse” or the probability that the players aren’t durable but we shouldn’t. There are no excuses for Arsenal. Find out why, after the break.

The estimated return dates are as follow:

Mikel Arteta – October 18th

Yaya Sanogo – October 18th

Serge Gnabry – October 25th

Theo Walcott – October 25th

Aaron Ramsey – Early November

Mathieu Debuchy  – December

Olivier Giroud – December

Mesut Ozil – January 2015

Yeah, that is pretty bad. But it isn’t an excuse. This team has been without Walcott for a while now, so the only two big names there are Ramsey and Ozil (Debuchy too but it’s been covered decently in my opinion.) Don’t get me wrong, they are wonderful players but a good team is prepared for this type of adversity, specially one that goes through something similar all the damn time. When one player goes down, another one must step up. Taking that into account, it is impossible for an unproven player to accomplish this without getting a fair chance.  I am targeting three players specifically:  Campbell, Podolski and Cazorla. The first two have been totally forgotten this season. Podolski comes in and normally always contributes with limited time and Campbell is a young gun with a lot of potential. If the old formula isn’t working, you have to try something new Wenger. Cazorla is a proven veteran and he has to be more of a regular in the lineup this season..

Give them a chance. If the same old set of players are being forced onto the field and are unable to achieve the desired results then what is stopping management from starting a set of hungry players with the spark and the aspiration to become better. They have something to prove.  Wenger has to sit down and think about what he should do. And if he is unable to realize this, something I am seeing with no coaching experience and just 18 years of god damn age, then maybe it is time to move on from him as well.

Once the international break ends, the League resumes with an encounter against Hull City. If we see no progress in that game, well as sad as this may sound, we may have to settle for a playoff spot…in the Europa League.
