Arsenal Injury News: Olivier Giroud, Debuchy, Ozil All Ahead of Schedule

Well this is a pleasant surprise. If we think back to last years injury problems, after shedding tears and shivering in fear, perhaps gagging a few times, we’ll remember that one of the main factors of last years injuries was that they lasted far longer than expected. Aaron Ramsey’s injury in the middle of the best season of his life was originally diagnosed as a 2-3 week injury, but turned into months, and then half the season.

This year, it has been a different story. When Ramsey got hurt this year, I feared he’d be done until March, but he got back way ahead of schedule.

Now, we have more good news.

More from Arsenal News

Olivier Giroud, Mathieu Debuchy and Mesut Ozil are reportedly way ahead of schedule. Arsene Wenger had this to say about Giroud in particular: “Olivier is miles ahead of schedule. He’s doing very well. He’s three weeks ahead of schedule and he will join normal training after the international break. Of course it’s a big boost.”

Still no updates on Laurent Kocielny but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back early as well.

What changed? Shad Forsythe.

The German international fitness coach was brought in during the summer to help out Arsenal’s injury situation, and while preventing injuries is still proving near-impossible, getting players back on, even ahead of schedule is a sensation not many Arsenal fans are familiar with.

Hopefully this trend continues and we get everyone back to full fitness. I can’t think of the last time Arsenal had a completely healthy squad with all the freedom in the world to get creative with their starting XI. Maybe that time is just around the corner.
