The transfer window is a mere 3 days old and Arsenal’s links are going nowhere fast. The hottest name on the Arsenal rumor list right now is Eduardo Vargas but the move is not necessarily going anywhere so much as it is just being talked about.

It appears that Arturo Vidal is either at a stalemate or being mummed and William Carvalho is in a similar state. So with all that in mind, take a look at what few updates there have been.

William Carvalho

According to the Telegraph, Arsenal are yet again sitting in pole position to land the Portuguese stud, although Manchester United are still in on the hunt as well, as they normally are. The defensive midfielder could be the final piece to Arsenal’s midfield jigsaw but he would cost a pretty penny, around 23 million pounds.

Baba Rahman

Baba has emerged recently out of thin air, seemingly, as the Augsberg fullback is being pursued by just about any Premier League team with a pulse. The 21-year old Ghanaian is said to fetch 14 million pounds. A move for a left back may not make the most sense on the surface for Arsenal, but deep down, it is brilliant.

Nacho Monreal is aging and lacks any real progression hopes. Kieran Gibbs could still develop some consistency, but just in case he does not, it would be nice to have a studly Baba Rahman waiting in the ranks to take the mantle. Even if Gibbs does come around, Rahman is five years his younger and a viable option.

However, with so many heavy spenders involved (according to the Guardian), can the Arsene Wenger effect win out?

Karim Benzema

Yes, I am still having dreams of a Giroud-Benzema, two striker formation. No, I do not actually believe it will happen (come on, FIFA 16!). However, yet another link has emerged to supposedly hasten the French stars exit from Real Madrid as aside from Rafa Benitez granting Ronaldo the sole striker spot, he is also supposedly (and confusedly) interested in Fernando Llorente to possibly replace Benzema. I feel like the previous statement should end in a question mark because of its questionable attributes.

Arda Turan

Call this potential deal off. Turan is reporedly holding onto an offer from Manchester United while he waits for an offer from Chelsea. The only part of this deal that Arsenal need to pay attention to is if Atletico Madrid are truly pursuing Santi Cazorla as a replacement.

Ilkay Gundogan

Another Borussia Dortmund link bites the dust as Gundogan has reportedly signed an extension at the German side. Gundogan was heavily linked in the winter but no deal was ever pushed through. Let this serve as a reminder that Arsneal and Borussia Dortmund are not common transfer partners just because we nabbed Tomas Rosicky from them nine years ago.
