Time is ticking for any further signings and it may be that this squad is the squad we will have until snow is tickling the tops of our heads. There are still some lose ends that could lead to something, however. So let’s gets started.

Jakub Blaszcykowski

There are few non-Arsenal players out there that I admire more than Kuba, and for 10 million pounds, Wenger would definitely at least take a look at him.

However, the problem is practicality. Wenger spoke about why he did not pursue Pedro, saying: “We have many players on the flanks. Many, many players.”

Unfortunately, Kuba too, plays on the flanks, so you have to imagine that Wenger is thinking the same thing. Kuba could also play centrally, but Arsenal have a surplus there as well. So while teams like City sign players no matter where they have surpluses, Arsenal have never done that sort of thing. Wenger’s ‘exceptional player’ clause in his transfer policy may intervene however.

We can hope, anyway.

Aleksandr Kokorin

With literally zero world class strikers available, Wenger may be looking to lesser known commodities like Kokorin, who has been chilling in Russia all his life.

The 24 year old striker has never found tremendous success but he has a stout international record and a decent enough club record. However, for 15 million pounds, do not expect Wenger to throw money and hope for the best, even with the pressure he is under to sign.

Lars Bender

For 18 million pounds, Bender is a far more logical signing than Morgan Schneiderlin but again it is a question of availability. Bayer Leverkusen are in the thick of the Bundesliga title race as they have a really solid young team and Bender is central to that team.

Arsenal have long been in pursuit of Bender for awhile, so maybe it is finally getting a point where a deal is encroaching.

Edinson Cavani

With Karim Benzema committing his very existence to Real Madrid, all eyes have turned to Edinson Cavani, who not so long ago committed himself to PSG, but we will ignore that for now. Wenger has hinted at a transfer deadline day move, but again, the logistics of Cavani has nothing to do with price.

All Cavani wants is to be the front man of PSG. Ibra is moving on next summer at the latest, so he simply has to bide his time until then. He is still finding goals there anyway.

If ever there was a time to sign Cavani, this is most certainly not that time.

Grzegorz Krychowiak

The Polish international has yet again committed to Sevilla, ending speculation over whether Arsenal could land the hulking midfield bruiser.
