Arsenal are in a bit of a drought and with no transfers coming in, they have to look for help elsewhere. Luckily, Jack Wilshere is all the help Arsenal need.

Jack Wilshere is having a rough go of this whole football thing. Despite having all the potential and raw talent in the world, he cannot stay healthy long enough to refine it into a fully functional footballer. But he is still just 24 years of age and that means there is still plenty of time for him to make something of it all.

At the end of last year, he gave us a good taste of what life would be like with a healthy Jack Wilshere. Arsenal were in fantastic form and Wilshere was all smiles, launching volleys into the net and looking like someone who had never missed any time at all.

That was painfully disrupted this year when he suffered another serious leg break that ended up requiring surgery to put a metal plate in his leg.

But now he is due back in about a month.

Jack Wilshere has to be the salvation that this team seeks. No one is coming in to rejuvenate this squad. Everyone they have is all they have. Francis Coquelin will be a massive boost, but Jack Wilshere’s return will be the biggest boost of them all.

Arsenal have plenty of talent. They ooze talent. But at times they can lack drive and appear complacent, if not uninspired. At times like that, sometimes you need that little push over the edge. With as much talent as they have, eventually this goal drought will sort itself out, but there are some players out there who can start a fire without simply waiting for a spark to catch.

Jack Wilshere is one of those players. This team lacks on the pitch leadership and passion and while Coquelin will provide a nice boost of passion, Wilshere will be the piece that puts Arsenal over the top. He does not stand for slights on Arsenal and he certainly doesn’t stand for letting Southampton drop four on the Gunners.

Having Coquelin and Wilshere back will ignite Arsenal at the perfect time. Instead of bland comments about how Arsenal ‘must bounce back’, we will see action being taken on the pitch to push the issue and stop these disappointments from happening in the first place.

As mentioned, Arsenal already have plenty of talent. They might have needed some depth, but they have enough talent to win the league. They just need that drive. Arsene Wenger may not always be enough to drive the team, but long-time Arsenal guys like Coquelin and Wilshere are enough. They will push them over the edge and make this team understand that anything less than the best just isn’t good enough.

Wilshere spoke in the media recently about how it was tough to stay positive with the latest injury. It is completely understandable given the frequency and the timing, but all this means is that he is going to come back more fired up than ever.
