Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has stated that to move to the next level he must leave in the summer. He is a possibility that Arsenal should explore.
Arsenal’s quest for a striker has been long, arduous and ultimately unsuccessful. Robin Van Persie, for 18 months, was a truly world class player, scoring 18 in 19 Premier League starts and then 30 goals in 37 Premier League starts in successive seasons.

Marouane Chamakh tried and failed pitifully, Lukas Podolski was misused by Wenger before becoming frustrated with a lack of game time, Olivier Giroud spluttered in and out of top class form without being reliable for a full season while Theo Walcott always flirted with a central role without ever committing to it, before persisting as wide man this season.
As such, Wenger most prominent attacking weapon as a striker is Alexis Sanchez, who now has less than 18 months remaining on his contract, has delayed talks on numerous occasions and may not be best served as a centre-forward long-term anyway. As such, investment is needed in the position this summer. Thankfully, the perfect man could well be available.
Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a move to the Emirates for some time. Now he himself has had his say on a potential departure in the summer, stating that if he is to get to the next level of performance, he would have to leave the German club:
"“If I want to go to the next level, I need to leave in summer. Real Madrid is still a dream, but there has been too much noise.”"
Aubameyang does raise Real Madrid as a potential destination and he would command both a significant transfer fee and wages, both of which may put Wenger off pursuing the Gabon international.
