Arsenal will be an interesting watch this offseason for two reasons.
Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal side face perhaps the biggest offseason in the Spaniard's tenure, and yes, we are getting ahead of ourselves here with the Premier League season still having nine games left and the Gunners still alive in the Champions League.
But such is the potential gravity of the situation, the Gunners simply have to get proactive.
One reason why is Ethan Nwaneri
The Hale End graduate has had a sensational time of it over the past couple of months, taking some of the sting out of the Gunners' injury issues up front to give fans a breath of fresh air.
The teenager has played superbly well, and when that happens, the interest from other teams can become apparent, and given the amount of money that is often thrown around, Nwaneri has the football world at his feet.
Which makes it all the more important for the Gunners to act quickly and sign Ethan to a new deal, and per The Daily Mail, that is exactly what the plan is.
"Arsenal are closing in on a new long-term contract for wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri to reward his continued rapid rise," The Daily Mail writes. "Mail Sport understands that the proposed deal is up to five years in length."

So that is one reason. Get on the front foot and avoid any unnecessary trouble with perhaps one of the club's most exciting prospects.
The other is to get the transfer targets in the door and early.
The last thing the Gunners want is a long, drawn-out process, and with the likes of Benjamin Sesko or Alexander Isak reported to be the key options for the Arsenal board, they will have to move quickly as the price will only continue to go up.
While it isn't known if Newcastle will even be willing to let Isak leave, especially with the Magpies looking good value to be in the Champions League next season, but the Gunners have been linked with the striker for what feels like forever.
Plus, the club's need for a genuine forward is well-documented and getting one through the doors coudl do wonders for other players looking to move clubs.
So there are two reasons why the summer is looming large for Arsenal.
Avoid our young stars getting poached and fix a situation that should have been handled 12 months ago.
Get to work, Mikel.
