Is This Thing On?

Soooooo, I know what you’re thinking.  Does the world really need another Arsenal blog?  Well, the world really doesn’t need another Manchester United win either, but they keep doing it.  Well, that is, unless it’s in this year’s Champions’ League.  So, I guess all you salivating Gunner haters will have to deal with, yes, another Arsenal blog.

The reigning EPL champions unceremoniously dumped out of the ECL & into the Europa League… too funny.  You like schadenfreude, kids?  Because I sure do!  You know, Manchester United used to be a giant of a club in Europe… until they took an arrow in the knee, in the form of Basel.

Losing 8-2 in August > getting dumped out of Europe’s premier continental competition from a relatively weak group on paper by an unheralded Swiss club.  Just sayin’…

How’s that for coming swingin’ right out of the gates with the first post?

Not all roses & gravy boats for Arsenal though as they themselves lost 3-1 to Olympiakos on Tuesday night in the same competition & also lost André Santos for a few weeks to injury which means either Thomas Vermaelen is due for a spell at left back or I may have to get back into shape sooner than scheduled & play left back myself.  Watch my sneaky cross-cum-shot, suckers!

Everton up this weekend for Arsenal in the league & Arsène Wenger will likely switch back to the full lineup including red-hot Robin Van Persie who has scored something like eleventy billion goals in his last eleventeen matches.  Szczesny due back in net too which means the shortly revived ‘keeper debacle of Tuesday night should come to an end.  Full match preview for you tomorrow.
