Arsenal News Round-Up

facebooktwitterreddit

Several items of news for you today and we’ll start out with the possibility that the Boxing Day fixture versus Wolves may be called off due to a tube workers’ strike.  And there you go.  What can ever possibly happen if things are mostly controlled by public organizations?  Well, in this case, you may not be able to watch your beloved club play!  Thanks, tube workers.

Moving on, along with Johann Djourou joining the exclusive club known as the Arsenal injury list after being forced off in the Man €ity match, there’s also the news that left back Kieran Gibbs has suffered a set back following his hernia operation.  This will obviously continue to stretch our options at fullback to paper thin levels along with straining our total options across the backline.  So much so that there are some rumors that Wenger may recall Kyle Bartley from his loan spell with Rangers.

Dovetailing on to a comment I made in the match ratings about possibly being time to sell Andrei Arshavin, there’s gossip out there that the club may indeed be pondering that very notion.

And in transfers in news, Wenger admits that Arsenal may be lacking options up front behind Robin van Persie, especially as Arsenal are due to lose both Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh to African Nations’ Cup duty in January but at the same time is likely ruling out the signing of Yoann Gourcuff from Lyon.

The solution to Arsenal’s lack of firepower up front?
