Merry Christmas, Gunners!

Merry Christmas, all you Gunners out there, or happy whatever holiday you choose to celebrate this time of year or Happy December 25th if you’re atheist.

Hope everyone is having a fun and festive period before the Premier League cranks back up tomorrow with their traditional lineup of Boxing Day fixtures.  For the life of me, just like the enigma that is why people in Latin America do not speak Latin, I can not figure out why Boxing Day has nothing to do with boxers, boxers or boxers.  It is truly one of the universe’s perplexing mysteries…

On the Arsenal front, steam is picking up on the possible Thierry Henry return to the club and as suspected, even if Titi does make a triumphant return to Arsenal, it’ll be as a short-term loan move most likely.

I know there’s rumors out there of Lukas Podolski coming to the club but as he is a “name” player, personally I would doubt the German coming to the club very much as Wenger is usually very reticent to bring players that recognized to the club.  Players such as Podolskiy command high transfer fees and wages from selling clubs and player agents alike and as we all know Wenger won’t buy unless he feels he gets good value from a deal.

But then again, with Chamakh looking completely at a loss for confidence and Park not even making the bench above Chamakh, maybe a move for someone like Podolski (unless of course we bring in Henry) could be on the cards.  However, knowing Wenger’s past it would more likely be someone “under the radar” or someone less known from a place like Croatia, Switzerland, France, etc.

Wolves are up on the day after boxing Day for us, so ’til then let us Gunners sit back and enjoy the holidays and the Boxing Day fixtures with our friends, family, and favorite adult beverage of choice.
