Sao Paulo Extend Denilson Loan

Arsenal’s Brazilian midfielder Denilson has reportedly extended his loan deal at Sao Paulo by another 12 months.

Arsenal and Sao Paulo had been in talks over the extension for quite some time now and after long negotiations, Sao Paulo agreed to increase the money on offer to Arsenal for taking him on loan.

After a rough start to his second spell with Sao Paulo, the Brazilian became a key player for the team. He got sent off twice in three games at the start of his loan spell and branded the club’s fans as “very, very annoying”. After more problems, some Sao Paulo fans demanded that he would never play for the club again, but Denilson got back into the manager’s and fans’ good books and has now extended his stay at the club.

After this loan spell is up, it is likely that Arsenal will sell him. They don’t need him any more and will take what they can get. Quite honestly, I am surprised they didn’t try to sell him permanently this summer. The further away from Arsenal, the better.
