Arsenal new away kit revealed tomorrow!

Arsenal will reveal their away strip for the 2012/13 season tomorrow. I have heard that Arsenal will have this shirt for 2 years, like they will the new home one, but we will have to wait and see, as the club have only said 2012/13 on their website so far.

A couple of months ago there was a picture floating around the internet of a purple striped shirt that was rumoured to be the new kit and having seen these pictures and the description, I believe that the below pictures are of the new away kit. The club have described the kit as one that will give them a ‘striking new look on the road’ and all of the training merchandise has the colour purple on it too. I have seen these pictures on my Twitter and Facebook feeds today and thought that I would share them.

Personally I don’t have a problem with the purple kit, even if Sp*rs have often used purple as their away colours in the past. It certainly isn’t the most popular shirt amongst the fans though and I must admit, I would much prefer the traditional yellow and blue away shirt that we used to have every year. I actually like the purple. It’s unique and is a change, but it will clash with other team’s kits such as West Ham and Aston Villa next season and the red and white shirt will clearly clash too, meaning that a 3rd shirt will most likely be required next season, meaning more money for the club.

If you think that the purple is bad, spare a thought for poor Wojciech Szczesny, who will have to wear this next year, even though he has said in his interviews that he doesn’t like wearing the colour pink:

Does it tell you something about this goalkeeper’s shirt when it makes this one look good?

I will post more pictures of the new shirt tomorrow. This looks legitimate to me, with the Arsenal catalogue look to it in the background, it looks like an official club promotion. So unless we’re in for a surprise tomorrow, this will be our new away shirt next season and that will be the shirt the goalkeeper’s are meant to wear on the road. Certainly an interesting choice of colours, but as long as we win, I couldn’t care less what we’re wearing to be honest.
