City, United and Juventus all make Van Persie bids
By Tom Humphrey
BBC Sport claims that Arsenal have received offers from three different clubs for their captain Robin Van Persie. The offers have come from Man United, Man City and Juventus. Van Persie, whose contract expires next summer, has told Arsene Wenger that he wants to leave the club and will not sign a new deal when his current one expires next summer.
It is believed that the three clubs that have tabled offers for the Dutchman have bid around £15m for him. Twitter rumours yesterday suggested that Juventus had bid £17m. The Italian club would be Arsenal’s preferred club due to the fact Arsenal won’t have to play against him in the league every year. But we have seen the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri all go to Man City in recent years, due to them being the highest bidder. It is believed Arsenal want a fee in the region of £25m or upwards for Van Persie.
The race is hotting up for him though and hopefully it is over as quickly as possible for the best price possible.
