Frimpong fined for Twitter comment

Emmanuel Frimpong has been fined £6,000 for a comment he made to a Tottenham fan on social networking website Twitter last month. Frimpong replied to a Tottenham fan who had sent him a vile message wishing injury upon him, with a derogatory term. Frimpong swiftly removed the comment, but it was spotted by fans and the FA before he deleted it.

Frimpong recently said on Twitter: “Just wanna Say didn’t even no the word is offensive as u hear it all the time but u live and learn from ur mistakes Have a gd afternoon”. If you need a translation of that he said: I just want to say that I did even know the word is offensive, as you hear it all the time, but you live and learn from your mistakes. Have a good afternoon.

He has also been warned about future behaviour on the website.
