Bartley joins Swansea (permanently reportedly!)

Kyle Bartley has completed a permanent switch to Swansea City. Whilst it was originally believed that he would be joining on a loan deal (as reported on the website earlier this evening, it appears to be a permanent switch. From what I have heard the fee is around £1m.

After Bartley confirmed his medical was complete he went on to say:

“Swansea deal complete. Very happy.. Was an extremely tough decision for me to leave arsenal, but felt the time was right…

Swansea offered me an opportunity.. And I’m extremely excited to start my career here, will always be thankful to arsenal for my education..

Was told my chances of game time this year would be limited, and as an ambitious young player I wanted to play in the premiership…

Now I’m here I will give 100% for Swansea. Thankyou everyone who has been behind me. New chapter for me.. And I can’t wait. Kyle”

I think that Bartley showed class there in his exit and final goodbye to the fans. I wish him all the best at Swansea and for the rest of his career. He would have only played in the League Cup this year really following his promotion to the first-team, but now he can play Premier League football every week at Swansea and it is probably the right move for him.
