Kyle Bartley is set to join Premier League club Swansea on a season-long loan deal. Reports earlier this evening suggested that Bartley was likely to join Swansea on loan, which have now been confirmed by the player himself. Bartley tweeted this evening: “Swansea medical complete” which suggest there have been no problems and he passed his medical. Sky Sports have confirmed the deal as done.

Twitter accounts had earlier suggested that Arsenal are interested in signing Angel Rangel from Swansea and that for the deal to happen, Arsenal would have to send some of their youngsters to Swansea on loan. The fact that Bartley has had a medical at Swansea and is going to join them, suggests that there could be some truth to the stories. Arsenal do need cover at right-back, with Bacary Sagna out injured at least until the end of August, Carl Jenkinson and an out of position Francis Coquelin are Wenger’s best options it seems. Rangel impressed during his first season in the Premier League and at 29, this could be his last chance to play for a top 4 team.

We will have to wait and see what happens regarding Rangel. One thing that does appear to be true is the Bartley loan deal. Best of luck to Kyle at Swansea. Hopefully this will be a good experience for him and he should gain experience of playing Premier League football regularly at Swansea.
