Andre Santos arrested 1 day before Premier League season started

News broke last night that Arsenal’s Brazilian defender Andre Santos was arrested on Friday morning for dangerous driving. Santos failed to stop after the police saw his car driving erratically. The Sun newspaper reported that Santos sped away from the police at up to 130mph. He was believed to be heading to Arsenal’s training ground on Friday morning and the police stopped him 500 yards from the training ground.

Santos was on the bench for Arsenal’s opening game of the season against Sunderland on Saturday after he was bailed. He will return in mid-September to a North London police station and could face jail if his case goes to the crown court and he is convicted.
