Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud: Koscielny played the entire 90 minutes of France’s 1-1 draw with Spain. He gave away a penalty after an appauling challenge in the first half, but he was only booked. As well as this, former Gunner Cesc Fabregas missed the resulting spot kick. Giroud came on as a late substitute but made an instant impact. France were searching for an equaliser and with 2 minutes remaining, Giroud was brought on to try and find the goal. In stoppage time, he did exactly that, heading home from a Franck Ribery cross.

Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski: Mertesacker scored his first international goal since 2005 yesterday in Germany’s World Cup qualifier against Sweden. Mertesacker’s goal gave Germany a 3-0 lead, a lead they would extend to 4 later in the game. However, the Swedes claimed a point after terrific second half comeback that made this a very exciting game for the neutral. Podolski came on in the 88th minute for Marco Reus.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Chamberlain is still in the England squad for the World Cup qualifier against Poland. Yesterday’s fixture was postponed due to heavy rain and rearranged for today at 4pm UK time.

Santi Cazorla: Cazorla replaced Manchester City’s David Silva in the 13th minute of the game due to Silva going off injured. Cazorla was seen hugging Giroud at the end of the game with a big smile on his face. Personally I think it’s great to see the bond between Arsenal players is there even when they play on opposite sides on the international stage.

Thomas Vermaelen: The Arsenal captain started Belgium’s 2-0 win over Scotland on Tuesday night.

Johan Djourou: Djourou helped Switzerland to keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 win against Iceland.

Aaron Ramsey: Ramsey was suspended for Wales’ 2-0 defeat against Croatia after picking up his second booking of the qualifying campaign in Friday night’s 2-1 win against Scotland.

Gervinho: Gervinho started Saturday’s game between the Ivory Coast and Senegal. With Didier Drogba scoring twice to give the Ivory Coast a 2-0 lead, crowd trouble began which lead to the game being abandoned in the 76th minute.

Nicklas Bendtner: Bendtner was booked during Denmark’s 3-1 defeat to Italy in Milan. He had better luck against Bulgaria on Friday night though, scoring in a 1-1 draw.

Joel Campbell: Campbell came on with 20 minutes remaining as Costa Rica thrashed Guyana 7-0. He was an unused substitute when Costa Rica beat El Salvador 1-0 on Saturday.

Ryo Miyaichi: Ryo came on as a last minute sub in Japan’s 4-0 loss to Brazil yesterday.

Chu-Young Park: Park played 90 minutes for South Korea in their 1-0 defeat to Iran. He picked up a booking in the last minute.

Giroud wheels away in delight after equalising for France.
