Emirates Cup to return this summer

Yesterday afternoon I received an email from Arsenal regarding the Emirates Cup. The club confirmed in the email that the Emirates Cup will be returning this summer as expected.

The pre-season tournament did not take place in 2012 due to the London Olympics being on at the same time. Over 100,000 have attended the Emirates Cup every year since it was created in 2007, so with that number possibly being added to an already hectic city, the tournament had to be cancelled last year.

The tournament will be back this summer and the games will be played over two days, August 3rd and August 4th. There will be four teams taking part in the tournament and Arsenal have yet to confirm who they will be playing. They hope to make an announcement in the coming weeks.

The Emirates Cup will be returning this summer.
