Wilshere set for Norwich return

Jack Wilshere is expected to return from his ankle injury in two weeks time. He is expected to miss the next two games (Reading (h), West Brom (a)) and then return for Arsenal’s game against Norwich on April 13th.

Wilshere missed the entire 2011/12 season and made his return to first-team action against QPR back in October. Obviously with a player that had such a long-term injury, there is always a risk of overplaying a player, something Wenger said he did with Wilshere during the 2010/11 campaign.

It is a difficult situation with Wilshere as he is such a big part of this Arsenal team and it is always a worry whenever he gets hurt because losing him  long-term can harm Arsenal’s chances on the pitch.

Wilshere’s last game was the North London Derby defeat to Tottenham on March 3rd. The international break meant Arsenal had less games without Wilshere to worry about, but they will still have to get through games against Reading and West Brom without their star man.

Jack Wilshere’s return has been pencilled in for Norwich at home on April 13th.
