Sao Paulo have confirmed that they are interested in making Arsenal’s Denilson a permanent signing in the summer.

The Brazilian has been on loan in his homeland since the summer of 2011 and Sao Paulo are hoping to seal a permanent deal this summer, having failed to agree one last year.

Sao Paulo’s vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes said the following on Denilson:

"“There are still more than 60 days left on his contract, so there are a couple of points to take into consideration.“The first point is that we are interested in the player and the second point is that we must deal with this situation closer to the end of the deal.“If we do it too early, it will end up costing us more money.” – Quotes from Sky Sports via ESPN Brasil."
