Grenier drops Gunners hint

Reported Arsenal transfer target Clement Grenier has dropped a big hint about where his future in the French media. The Lyon midfielder has been quoted as saying the following:

"“I have more or less made a decision about which club I want to join.I have made the choice for sporting reasons above all. Arsenal? It could well be them. There would be competition for places, but you get that at all big clubs and it does not stop me making my decision.I am still young, but I have always set myself targets and I do everything possible to exceed them.” – Clement Grenier on transfer speculation. Personally I don’t like a player saying things like this, trying to force moves away from their clubs. There has to be a respect for their employer somewhere, players courting moves elsewhere. We’ve had this problem at Arsenal in recent years of course and it’s not nice to hear from your players. So I can’t imagine Lyon fans are best pleased with Grenier right now. Even if he is talking up a move to Arsenal, I don’t respect it.

Say in a couple of years he’s an Arsenal player and we’re still not winning trophies, he could say similar things about a move to Man City or something, the kind of thing we wouldn’t want at the club.

Of course if he joins the club I will be 100% behind him, it’s just not a good first impression.
