Marseille linked with Arsenal’s Gervinho
By Tom Humphrey
Arsenal’s Gervinho is reportedly a target for French club Marseille this summer.
The Ivorian has struggled to adapt to the Premier League since his move to the club from Lille in 2011 and has proven to be a very frustrating player for the fans.
He was a major part of Lille’s double winning team from 2 years ago, scoring 18 goals in all competitions. Since his switch to the Emirates, he has failed to produce them numbers. He had a good start to the 2012/13 season, but that form quickly faded away and he was inconsistent throughout the season.
A return to France might be what Gervinho needs. Marseille can offer him Champions League football and their assistant manager has confirmed that the French side do have an interest in him.
"“This is a profile that interests us, yes. We want flank players, with dribbling, passing and scoring and Gervinho has this profile.”"
Gervinho is being linked with a move back to France.
