Park Chu-Young fined by Celta Vigo

Arsenal’s Park Chu-Young has been fined by loan club Celta Vigo after he refused to play in the final game of his loan spell at the club.
The South Korean rarely featured for Arsenal after a move from Monaco in August 2011 and was sent out on loan to Spain following the arrivals of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud last summer. Podolski also took the number 9 shirt from Park, something that I don’t think he would have been too pleased with.
As it turned out, his loan spell at Celta Vigo wasn’t a huge success either and he netted just 3 times in a season that didn’t see him play that much. He did play a lot more there than he did for us, but still not a lot of football by first-team standards.
Park will have to return to Arsenal this summer and both Arsenal and the player will be hoping he can find a buyer. It appears very unlikely that after his actions on the final day of the season in Spain, that Celta Vigo will take him off of Arsenal’s hands.
Park had an unhappy spell on loan at Celta Vigo.
