Higuain’s brother claims Arsenal deal is close

The brother and agent of Arsenal’s number 1 transfer target this summer claims that his client is close to a move to Arsenal. Nicolas Higuain, brother of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain is quoted as saying the following by TMW:

"“I think that Higuain is now closer to Arsenal. Juventus are a great club, but Gonzalo is too expensive for them. Napoli are a strong side and that place represents a lot for Argentines. Saying that, I can’t deny that Gonzalo is now close to Arsenal.”"

With Juventus signing Carlos Tevez from Manchester City yesterday, that makes Higuain’s path to the Emirates seemingly much clearer. Arsenal seem to make a habit of making transfer sagas go on and on each year.

Normally I get my hopes up about all the rumours, but I learnt that any transfer rumour involving Arsenal, no matter how close it is, will take forever to conclude or just not happen at all. Think back to two summers ago, Arsenal were on the verge of signing Juan Mata from Valencia, but Arsenal took too long to wrap up the deal and he moved to Chelsea instead.

Last summer, Nuri Sahin was very close to joining Arsenal on loan for the season from Real Madrid, but he ended up joining Liverpool instead on loan.

I actually think this Higuain deal will probably go through, but some fans need to realise that it will take time, whether we like it or not.
